President’s Report – Highlights From June 07 - June 08 Several AAVC website and constitutional changes. AAVC Web address: Much work done with the VIRMP: electronic application, improved internal organization, enforcing rules. Improved updating of membership directory.

Presidents Report Continued Election of new officers: see nominating committee report. Special Meeting in Schaumburg AVMA headquarters in February 08 covering shortage of academic faculty and decline in research

Secretary – Treasurer’s Report – Dr. Schaer for Dr. Fingland The AAVC is financially solvent. Main income source from VIRMP and annual membership dues.

AVMA Delegate’s Report – Dr. Schaer for Dr. DeBowes No direct impact on AAVC Further details in AVMA website covering July House of Delegates Meeting which took place in Washington D.C. New AAVC AVMA delegates will be elected next year.

New Business – Constitution Amendments The new president elect will take office at the AAVC Department Heads and Hospital Directors meeting in the Spring instead of the AAVC/ACVIM Summer meeting. The Awards will be presented to the winners’ respective Hospital Director at the Spring meeting which will then be given to the recipient at the home institution. There will be one regular meeting in the Spring and there will no longer be a second meeting unless deemed necessary by the president. (This proposal under reconsideration pending AAVC Executive Committee conference call)
