HIGH INTEREST TOPICS Benchmark Questions submitted by personnel which the other members reply with their plant ‘s process. Benchmark Questions submitted by personnel which the other members reply with their plant ‘s process. RP/ALARA ASSOCIATION PWR Examples of High Interest Topics include: How do you determine ED setpoints? What type of alpha monitoring do you perform? Do you have a formalized hot spot reduction program? Have you implemented a good strategy for reducing scaffold dose? How do you develop cycle dose goals? How many PCE’s have you had in the last year?

GOLDEN NUGGETS RP/ALARA ASSOCIATION PWR Inexpensive tools or gadgets which save dose and can be easily implemented at sites. Examples of Golden Nuggets are: -Teletower -Steam Shark for boron removal -On-line ALARA Challenge Boards for jobs >50 mrem -Color coded plant locator valve maps -Locking devices for contaminated vacuum cleaner plugs -Use of cement tube in Sealand to center high level trash -Weekly “ALARA Focus” Job
