The Circulatory System By: Alek and Nicole

The blood flow of the circulatory system The blood starts to get pumped from the left ventricle. It pumps blood through arteries to the body. The blood brings resources to every cell. Your heart pumps blood out to all parts of your body in arteries and veins. The capillaries are in contact with your cells. Oxygen, water and food are transferred to the cells, and carbon dioxide is carried away. Blood flows back to the right side of the heart in veins. The right side of your heart pumps blood to your lungs, where when you inhale, you take in oxygen. And when you exhale, the carbon dioxide leaves your body. And this amazing cycle continues until you die.

Right Atrium The right atrium receives blood from the superior and inferior cava and pumps it to the right ventricle.

Right ventricle The Right ventricle receives deoxygenated blood from the right atrium.

Left atrium The left atrium receives oxygenated blood from the pulmonary valves and pumps it to the left ventricle.

Left ventricle The left ventricle pumps the blood to the aorta, which is a major artery that pumps blood though out the body in veins.

Arteries, Veins, And Capillaries The Arteries carry blood away from the Left ventricle where it gets pumped every time the heart contracts. And Then On the way the oxygen – Rich blood cells go into capillaries. In the capillaries, Each red blood cell carrys oxygen molecules, these are released into the cells which then use the oxygen in for cellular respiration. Every cell in the body has access to capillaries so that they can get oxygen, aswell as get rid of waste products to the blood such as carbon dioxide as the blood passes by
