The Circulatory System By: Anna Gagnon

The Circulatory System The function of the circulatory system is to pump blood and oxygen through the body. This system works with the entire body. If you don’t have the blood pumping than your body will just shut down.

Parts Of The Circulatory System Heart Blood vessels Blood The kinds of blood vessels are arteries, capillaries, and veins. There are many different kinds of blood types.

Arteries Arteries carry blood away from the heart

Capillaries Tiny vessels where oxygen goes to cells and carbon dioxide is picked up.

Veins Brings oxygen back to the heart so it can pump right back to where it started.

Blood Plasma-liquid part Red Blood cells-carry oxygen throughout the body. White Blood Cells-fight germs Platelets-Make blood clot

Heart Pumps blood and oxygen through the body

Steps of the Circulatory System Arteries Capillaries Veins Heart Lungs

Fun Facts Your heart pumps 1,500 gallons of blood everyday Human blood is colorless, it is the protein that makes it red.
