Parents: Cronos and Rhea Sphere of influence: dead; king of the underworld Attributes: key of Hades and Cerberus Birthplace: Island of Crete Favorite Place: Underworld

This picture is interesting because it’s an old art piece and shows Hades at his underworld throne. This piece of art shows Hades as a royal wealthy Greek god. This shows Hades holding a staff with a bird on top. This painting shows the story of Orpheus (even though cannot see the rest of the art piece). The story of Orpheus is that he was a musician who wished to have his dead girlfriend be brought back to life. So he went to go make a deal with Hades. Hades’ wife, Persephone, persuaded Hades to give back Orpheus’ sweetheart back as long as he does not look behind him on his way out of the underworld. Orpheus saw a shadow but knew he could not look back. His curiosity got the best of him and he looked back and his lover was lost forever.

This picture is an interesting picture because it shows Hades at his throne. This makes him appear regal. He hold a staff in his left hand and on his right side he has (what I think is) Cerberus. This pictures shows Hades as an dark bearded man. I think this picture is able to teach you a lot about Hades.
