What is a rainforest A rainforest is a hot, thick jungle that gets a lot of rain. A large number of plants and animals live there. Click here to see a movie. Most rainforests are located around the middle of the earth near the equator. Click here to see a map.Rainforests are very important to the earth. They help to clean the air that we breathe. Some of the things we get from rainforests include chocolate, sugar, cinnamon, and medicine. Some people have been cutting down the trees to sell the wood and make room for farms. When the trees are cut down, many plants and animals die. Because rainforests are so important, we need to protect them.here To next page

What animals live at the rain forest A rainforest is a reference tool to some of the animals that can be found in the rainforest. Rainforests are located across the world, generally around the equator, between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn. Central and South America, Africa, India, Southeast Asia, parts of Indonesia and Australia all contain rainforests. There are many species of plants and animals in the rainforest. A common estimate is that approximately half of the world's largest species live in rainforests. Another estimate is that 25 percent of the world's medicine is derived from rainforest plants. Unfortunately, scientists have not been able to research and explore the majority of the rainforest plants to find all of the possible medicines and new species of plants and animals. Opinions differ on exactly how much rainforest is disappearing due to slash and burn farming techniques, but they are disappearing. There are several websites that offer ways to help save the rainforest including Ecologyfund.com and Greenribbonpledge.org. At The Animal Spot we are always adding new animals and information so please stop by and see what's new. We also hope you will stop by and see our other websites, Desertanimals.net and Tundraanimals.net for great information about animals of the desert and tundra. Thank you for visiting and we hope you enjoy our reference to rainforest animals To next page

Names of people who have benn at the rainforest No single person has ever visited the rainforest for a good reason because there are tribes that have guns, we don’t know how they get weapons, such as these listed below. Guns Rifles Snipers Knifes Sticks Axe. They are the things that tribes use to defend themselves from people who try to help them. They don’t know the outside people because maybe they were born there so they wont know other people.
