The Royal Albatross (Toroa) By DJ Fonoti

The royal albatross is the largest sea bird in the world.

The royal albatross has a wingspan of 3.5 metres long and weighs 9000 grams. The royal albatross is part of the tube nose family.

The royal albatross spends most of its time on the water they only come to land to make their nests. Albatrosses usually return to nest where they were hatched.

It is hard for albatrosses to get airborne because they are so big. Albatrosses can still have babies at the grand age of sixty. Albatrosses can start to have babies at the age of ten. Albatrosses eat fish and squid and drink seawater.

The royal albatross flies over the southern oceans and around America and back to New Zealand.
