Presentation transcript:

Our habitat is the Rainforest. It is usually hot and rainy. It rains every day in the rainforest. The Rainforest has tall trees and has 3 layers called the canopy, the understory, and the forest floor. People are cutting down the huge trees and animals are losing their homes.

It is located in north America, south America, Africa, Asia, and Australia. Rainforests are located near the equator. A plant called rafflesia lives in the rainforest. It makes flowers up to 3 feet wide. You can find the coffee been in the rainforest. A venus fly trap lives there, too.

The most dangerous bird in the word lives in the rainforest and it is the cassowary. It has a blue head with a bump that is its horn. Its body is black and furry. Tigers are one of the most dangerous cats in rainforest. A jaguar gets its nutrients from the rainforest.

One animal to plant interaction is the agouti cracks open a brazil nut seed. He’s the only animal that has sharp enough teeth to open them. He gets a meal and part of the seed falls to the ground and grows. The seeds cannot grow without the agouti opening them.

An interesting fact is this environment can receive up to 160 inches of rain a year. If you are sick, you might take a medicine that was made from a rain forest plant.
