Warm-up 1.2.

Place Value: Essential Question: Why is understanding place value so important when solving problems?  Glue your chart into your journal.  Decimals show part of a whole.  The decimal point separates the ones place and the tenths place.  The decimal says the word “and”.

Practice  You and your partner will compete against the rest of the class to see how many of you can put the cups in order by the correct place value. The number will flash across the screen in words. You and your partner must decide the number and turn the cups the first group who has the correct answer wins the point.
