Resolutions for the New Year A short list of resolutions all Christians can work on in the year 2010

2010 Spiritual Resolutions More Bible Study 2 Timothy 2:15

Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

2010 Spiritual Resolutions More Bible Study 2 Timothy 2:15 More Prayer James 5:16-18

Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. 17 Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. 18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit.

2010 Spiritual Resolutions More Bible Study 2 Timothy 2:15 More Prayer James 5:16-18 More Meditation Philippians 4:8-9

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy--meditate on these things. 9 The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.

2010 Spiritual Resolutions More Bible Study 2 Timothy 2:15 More Prayer James 5:16-18 More Meditation Philippians 4:8-9 Better Attendance Hebrews 10:24-25 Psalm 122:1

Hebrews 10:24-25 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

Psalm 122:1 I was glad when they said to me, "Let us go into the house of the LORD."

2010 Spiritual Resolutions More Bible Study 2 Timothy 2:15 More Prayer James 5:16-18 More Meditation Philippians 4:8-9 Better Attendance Hebrews 10:24-25 Psalm 122:1 More Evangelism 2 Timothy 4:2

Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.

2010 Spiritual Resolutions More Bible Study 2 Timothy 2:15 More Prayer James 5:16-18 More Meditation Philippians 4:8-9 Better Attendance Hebrews 10:24-25 Psalm 122:1 More Evangelism 2 Timothy 4:2 More Benevolence James 1:27

Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

2010 Spiritual Resolutions More Bible Study 2 Timothy 2:15 More Prayer James 5:16-18 More Meditation Philippians 4:8-9 Better Attendance Hebrews 10:24-25 Psalm 122:1 More Evangelism 2 Timothy 4:2 More Benevolence James 1:27 More Hospitality 1 Peter 4:7-9

But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers. 8 And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.” 9 Be hospitable to one another without grumbling.

2010 Spiritual Resolutions More Bible Study 2 Timothy 2:15 More Prayer James 5:16-18 More Meditation Philippians 4:8-9 Better Attendance Hebrews 10:24-25 Psalm 122:1 More Evangelism 2 Timothy 4:2 More Benevolence James 1:27 More Hospitality 1 Peter 4:7-9 More Love Matthew 22:37-40

Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

Conclusio n A common list of resolutions contains such matters as losing weight, exercising more, going to be earlier, etc. Why not make your list a bit more substantial, and resolve to do a better job of pleasing the Lord?
