What Kind Of Faith Do You Have? Ephesians 2:8 Galatians 3:26-27 Romans 5:1

The importance of “faith” For by grace you have been SAVED through faith, & that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God (Eph 2:8). For you are all SONS OF GOD through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ (Gal 3:26-27). Therefore, having been JUSTIFIED by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (Rom 5:1).

Bible usage of “faith” To believe facts – James 2:19; Luke 6:46 The gospel (New Testament) – Ephesians 4:4-5; Jude 3 A personal faith – Hebrews 11:6

What kind of “faith” is yours? INHERITED – Beliefs passed down from our family or peers – Saul of Tarsus inherited a faith from his peers that did him no good Acts 23:1; 26:9; 7:58-8:1

What kind of “faith” is yours? INDOCTRINATED – Beliefs we gain from being taught: – May be incomplete 1 Peter 1:6-7 – Or incorrect Romans 10:2-3; Acts 26:5-9

What kind of “faith” is yours? GENUINE (SINCERE) – Beliefs we gain through personal study 2 Timothy 1:5; 1 Timothy 1:5; Romans 10:17

GENUINE (SINCERE) FAITH 2 Tim 1:5 – when I call to remembrance the genuine [kjv, unfeigned: without hypocrisy] faith that is in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois & your mother Eunice, & I am persuaded is in you also. 1 Tim 1:5 – Now the purpose of the commandment is love from a pure heart, from a good conscience, & from sincere [same Greek] faith.

What kind of “faith” is yours? GENUINE (SINCERE) – Beliefs we accept on the basis of Truth “So then faith comes by hearing…the word of God” (Rom 10:17) “Sanctify them [disciples] by Thy Truth, Thy Word is Truth” (John 17:17).

What kind of “faith” is yours? GENUINE (SINCERE) – Beliefs that drive us to be obedient to God’s word James 2:14-26
