Make up Chromatography of Plant Pigments Lab …. Simulated that is! NEXT

Procedures Obtain a copy of the lab that looks like….. NEXT

Read & highlight the Introduction Obtain all of the materials required for the lab. NEXT

Trim your chromatography paper so that one end in in a point. Draw a faint pencil line and apply a drop of plant pigment to the line. NEXT

Fill the reaction chamber to the black line with developer. Feed the paper through the slot on the cap so that the tip enters the developer. Fold the top of the paper strip and secure with tape to hold it in place while the solvent “wicks” up. NEXT

Wait 5-7 minutes until the solvent / developer reaches the cap on the reaction chamber. Immediately mark the color bands on the CHROMATOGRAM before they fade. NEXT

Measure the distances each pigment traveled from the original dot using the ruler provided. All measurements are in mm. Record your data in the chart provided. Dark green Light green yellow Orange NEXT

Answer the questions on the back of the lab. Submit your lab to your teacher.
