MICS Workshops  A set of three workshops  Aim: Develop the capacity of UNICEF and partners to plan and implement a household survey  Reason: Disseminate timely and high quality data on the situation of children and women 2

Workshop 3: Data Interpretation, Further Analysis & Dissemination The third workshop is for countries that, at a minimum, have:  Produced a full set of MICS tables  Tables reviewed by MICS team at:  Regional Offices  New York Headquarters 12

Workshop 3: Data Interpretation, Further Analysis & Dissemination Objective 1 Provide an opportunity for MICS country/survey teams to:  Undertake a substantive review of their own country/survey data 13

Workshop 3: Data Interpretation, Further Analysis & Dissemination Objective 2 Provide an opportunity for MICS country/survey teams to:  Produce a Key Findings Report by the end of the workshop, if applicable 14

Workshop 3: Data Interpretation, Further Analysis & Dissemination Objective 3 Provide an opportunity for MICS country/survey teams to:  Be exposed to a variety of dissemination ideas and tools 15

Workshop 3: Data Interpretation, Further Analysis & Dissemination Objective 4 Provide an opportunity for MICS country/survey teams to:  Review their data in the context of equity analysis 16

Workshop 3: Data Interpretation, Further Analysis & Dissemination Objective 5 Provide an opportunity for MICS country/survey teams to:  Discuss potential areas of further analysis 17

How will objectives be achieved?  Through a balance of technical sessions addressing each MICS thematic area followed by group work in country/survey teams  Through an experience exchange of good practices and lessons learnt from previous MICS along with exposure to new ideas for MICS analysis and dissemination tools 18

How will objectives be achieved?  Through ongoing work throughout the workshop to enhance country/survey teams skills and knowledge on the interpretation of their data to put knowledge gained into Key Findings Report More than a third of the workshop time is dedicated to group work but participants may have to work outside of workshop hours too…. 19

Presentations  Use laptops - open the MICS results/tables  Listen to the presentations  Ask questions 20

Country/Survey working groups  All participants of a MICS country/survey as separate group  Country/Survey teams will be joined by facilitators to go over the tabulations  Last 10 minutes for comments from each table (facilitators or participants) 21

 To meet at the end of each day  To provide feedback at the beginning of each day Eyes and ears 22
