Florida Distance Learning Consortium Florida Distance Learning Consortium Consolidated the Florida Community College Distance Learning Consortium and the Florida Virtual Campus in Voluntary institutional cooperation, coordination and collaboration led by a state level staff. Legislature formally established the Consortium in Serves in an advisory role to the Board of Governors and Florida Division of Colleges in the area of distance learning and the use of educational technologies Operating budget is provided jointly by the Board of Governors and the Florida College System.

Florida Distance Learning Consortium Standing Committees  Faculty and Instruction – Distance learning or technology issues related to instruction and the faculty  Support and Services – Support services issues for students, faculty or institutions. Also, concerned with the services provided by the Consortium websites.  Strategic Partnerships and Licensing – Licensing and partnership arrangements with vendors, other agencies or among member institutions.  Orange Grove Repository – Development and implementation of the learning object repository.

Florida Distance Learning Consortium Florida Higher Education Distance Learning Catalog From 6,000 courses listed in 2005 to 24,441 in Increase of 58% since Online degree program database contains 447 listings from certificate to PhD programs and continues to receive as many searches as the course catalog. Standard description and graphic provided to all institutions and institutional websites continue to update relevant sections. Average visitor spends 5 minutes on the site, views 7-8 pages and transitions to an institution site for more information.

Florida Distance Learning Consortium Partnerships and Licensing User-based review and evaluation process.  Direction of the members Leveraged purchasing power for favorable pricing and implementation terms. Savings of over $1.4 million dollars last year. Agreements are open to all institutions whenever possible.

Florida Distance Learning Consortium The Orange Grove Repository A digital storehouse that provides:  A single access point for digital learning resources, open textbooks and professional development resources  Opportunities for Florida educators to share & collaborate on resources  Increased efficiency for development efforts by re- purposing existing resources  Identification of resources with Florida Common Course Numbers and soon - Common Core Standards Orange Grove Texts + - Partnership with the University Press of Florida  Access to OGT+ textbooks – a wide range of free, online, open textbooks in a choice of bound book formats. Bound books are priced at 40-50% less than similar textbooks
