Guided Practice with Context Clues Identify the words in each sentence that give clues to the meaning of the words in bold. Mary decided to write about the sequence of events so that her audience would know what happened in the beginning, middle, and end. Before writing, she took an inventory of the materials she would need. She checked to see that she had her notes, pens, and extra paper. After writing for three hours, Mary realized she had misjudged how much paper she needed and had to go to the store to buy more.
