HEALTH RATES  Amounts on rate sheet are shown as monthly rates. o Determine cost per pay by dividing by 2. Deductions will be over 24 pays.  Regular employees begin earning State Share contributions on the first of the month following three full months of employment. o Seaford School District will contribute $ monthly toward any chosen health plan to help offset the cost during that period. o When employee earns State Share contributions, the employee may make a change to their health plan.

Important Benefit Reminders Changes to Coverage  Open Enrollment – May with July 1 st effective date  Qualifying Event - birth of a child, divorce, death of a spouse, change in spouse’s coverage, etc. MUST contact us within 30 calendar days of the qualifying event.

Important Benefit Reminders Spouse eligibility for medical coverage Example: If contributions by the spouse’s employer are less than 50% of the premium for the lowest benefit plan available through the spouse's employer, it is not necessary for the spouse to enroll in his or her own employer's plan. If covering a spouse under your medical plan, a Spousal Coordination of Benefits must be completed online or there will be a reduction in benefits.

Benefit - Employee Leave  10 Month Employees receive 10 Days of Sick Leave each year, 3 of which can be used as Personal Days.  If transferring from another district, any verified leave time will be added to allotted 10 days.  If an employee is out for more than 3 days, medical documentation is needed.  Any employee who needs to be out more than 5 days, must contact Teresa Craft, Benefits Coordinator.  Leave of Absence, Short Term Disability, FMLA – must be coordinated through Teresa Craft.  Any unused Sick Leave days will rollover into the next school year.

Aesop – Leave Reporting  Kelly Services Aesop – Employee Leave Tracking and Substitute Fulfillment System  Available 24/7 via Internet, Phone and Mobile Devices  – must be done one (1) hour before start time  KAST Service Center – – must be called to submit absence when cannot enter online or via regular phone system  Absences – must be communicated to building administrator in advance  Absences – School Business, Illness, Personal, etc. – All must be recorded in Aesop  School Business – Blue Forms must still be completed for funding/approval and the absence loaded in Aesop/Form submitted five school days in advance  Must include Note to Administrator - CIF, Religious Holiday, School Business, DIF, Funeral Relative, and Pay Dock

PENSION What do I contribute to my pension?  As an employee of the State of Delaware, you contribute a certain percentage of each paycheck to the State's pension fund. Employees hired prior to January 1, 2012 contribute 3% of that portion of their monthly compensation which exceeds $6,000 per year. Employees hired after December 31, 2011 contribute 5% of that portion of their monthly compensation which exceeds $6,000 per year. Effective January 1, 1993, employee contributions to pension are pre-tax.

PENSION What does my employer contribute to my pension?  The State and employer pay the balance of the required pension contribution, each proportionate to its share of your salary. The State and employer contribute 20.66% of its covered payroll into the Pension Trust Fund as of July 1, 2013.

PENSION Can I use accrued sick leave toward my pension?  Yes, one (1) month of credited service can be purchased for each twenty-one (21) days of accrued sick leave beyond ninety (90) days or the balance for which the employee received payment for up to twelve (12) months.

PAYROLL When will I receive my first pay check?  Balanced Calendar - September 4, 2015  Regular Calendar - September 18, 2015

Payroll  How often will I be paid? Employees are paid biweekly, every other Friday, 26 times a year (unless a 10 month employee selects 22 pays). Health, Dental and Vision Benefits are deducted in only 24 pays (twice per month).  How will I receive my paycheck? State of Delaware requires direct deposit. Your first paycheck will be a paper “live” check. If you should decide to change banks a new Direct Deposit Authorization form will need to completed and given to the business office.
