TEACHER RECRUITMENT PACKET PLAN HUMAN RESOURCES RECRUITMENT

Teachers of the Following Categories are needed. Highly qualified Teachers for: Elementary School Middle School Secondary School Special Education The Goal of this Recruitment process: To achieve and attain academic excellence in our schools. Operate effectively with integrity and fiscal responsibility. To achieve success for students and the staff everyday.

State policies regarding NCLB Highly Qualified Teachers (HQT) A HQT elementary and early childhood teacher has to meet the following conditions: Holds at least a bachelor’s degree. Has a license or certificate in the subject(s) taught. Demonstrate subject competence in each of the subjects which the teacher teaches by: Has passed a state certification test in the subject or level taught.

Continued… A HQT middle school teacher must certify the following conditions: Hold’s at least a bachelor’s degree. Has a license or certificate in the subject(s) taught. Demonstrates competency in the subjects he/she teaches by: Passing a state certification test in the subject or level taught. Completed an undergraduate academic major or any other relevant coursework in subject taught. Official transcript needs to be presented. Completed a graduate degree in the subject taught. Has been certified by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards in subject taught.

Continued… A HQT secondary teacher meets the following conditions: Hold’s at least a bachelor’s degree. Has a license or certificate in the subject(s) taught. Demonstrates competency in the subjects he/she teaches by: Passing a state certification test in the subject or level taught. Completed an undergraduate academic major or any other relevant coursework in subject taught. Official transcript needs to be presented. Completed a graduate degree in the subject taught. Has been certified by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards in subject taught. Has demonstrated competency in each subject taught as per the HOUSSE (high objective uniform state standard of evaluation)

Continued… A HQT special education teacher meets the following conditions: Has a special education certificate Also, has an additional certificate in secondary or middle education, or elementary education, or early childhood education. The additional certificate should especially be in Math, or Language Arts, or Science. They have to build a HOUSSE single core subject area. Pass a specific test subject area.

District Facts Students enrollment: 8500 Certified staff: 476 Supporting staff: 456 Teachers with Master of Arts degree: 60% Teachers with Doctorate: 1% Recent graduation rate figures 88.1%. The goal is to obtain 100%. Partnered with the community and businesses to strengthen our district.

What indicators in their work or behavior show they can do this…? What form of evidence will demonstrate this?
