FOR EAGLE’S NEST INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL WEBSITE TUTORIAL

WELCOME TO THE DASHBOARD When you login to post to your blog, you will come to the dashboard. This page has a rundown of the steps required to make a post, my contact information and how to change your password.

1. HOW TO POST TO YOUR BLOG The dashboard contains a left sidebar that will look slightly different than this illustration. Hover over the posts link and choose “ add new ”

2. FILLING IN THE INFORMATION You now come to your posting page. Add the title of your post. Adding the title will make it possible to get to your post from the front page of the site so this is an important step. Next, fill in your information. You can use tables, bold, italics, justify text and change colors of your text. You can add pictures and video, make button links. Just use the icons above your information.

3. CHOOSING CATEGORIES It’s now time to select the proper categories so that your posts will show in the right areas of the site. Scroll down and check the STAFF category. This will enable your post to show on the front page of the site. Next, find your NAME and select it. This will enable the post to show up in your blog.

4. PUBLISHING Once all your information is complete, it’s time to publish to your blog so the world can see it. Just click the large blue PUBLISH button on the right.

5. MINOR DIFFERENCES Now that your post is available on the site, you’ll see some changes in your page. The publish button is now an UPDATE button. You can continue to make changes but make sure you click UPDATE so your changes are saved. You also have a VIEW POST link which will take you to the published page listed at the permalink below it. A permalink is the actual URL of your post that your readers will see.

CLICK “VIEW POST” Clicking the view post link will show you what your post looks like as a published page. The world is now able to view it too!

QUICK LINK TO THE FRONTEND Clicking the Eagles’ Nest link in the upper left corner will take you to the front of the site. Once on the site, clicking the same spot again will take you back to the dashboard.

LET’S SEE IT IN ACTION Use your quicklink to view the site and navigate to Meet the Staff/ENIS Staff Profiles and Blogs. Notice also that if you scroll down on the front page, the title of your post will appear that is clickable to your post. If you did not click your STAFF category, your post link will not be available.

LINK TO YOUR BLOG You’re now on the Meet The Staff page. Just find your name and picture and click on the READ BLOG link.

YOUR BLOG PAGE Each time you post, a new addition will be added to your blog page. Parents and other readers will be able to follow along and can always access this information.
