Communication Plan Vision Statement: The Communications Department works to support a positive educational environment for students, staff, parents and the community by building a sense of trust, cohesiveness, and understanding of Douglas County School District.

Communication Plan Vision Statement: The Communications Department works to support a positive educational environment for students, staff, parents and the community by building a sense of trust, cohesiveness, and understanding of Douglas County School District.

Communication Plan - Goals 1) Expand the level of community engagement, that is, stakeholders playing an active role in supporting DCSD. 2) Build public awareness and support of DCSD schools, including neighborhood, charter and choice schools and programs. 3) Increase transparent two-way communication with stakeholders 4) Improve internal and external customer service.

Community Engagement Open Forums at BoE meetings  Are we ready to move forward with the January 19th meeting at RCHS?  If so, the upcoming meeting will be advertised through usual communication tools and through local paper advertisements

DCSD Financial Transparency Website Pages  Next Steps  Test the new website with a small group to determine ease of use and any necessary changes  We have had 4 comments submitted  Go live with the website pages in January 2010  Will send a communication into the system to inform that we will go live on January 15th, pending approval from IT Dept.  Meet with Charter schools in January to explain the legislation and requirements
