System Training It is essential that you arrange for training on any campus multimedia podium system before you use it ! TO ARRANGE FOR TRAINING PLEASE CALL THE CTL AT X5347 Know WHAT you are using and HOW to use it !

System Overview Juice Goose Surge Protector & Power Conditioner DO NOT POWER OFF VCR / DVD Player Combo Unit

System Power Up Step 1. Make sure the Juice Goose is powered on. DO NOT TURN OFF Step 2. Power up Crestron Controller. Touch the screen to activate it

Source Selection Choose if you wish to display video only, audio only, or both video and audio Note: The image below may look slightly different than what’s presented in the guide

TO PLAY VIDEO TAPES STEP 1. Insert video tape into VCR / DVD Combo Unit VCR / DVD

Source Selection Step 1. Select “VCR” from the available display devices. Step 2. Choose where you would like to display the video. Projector #1, projector #2 or “Both”

Make sure VCR/DVD player light on the DVD/VCR unit matches the source you want to play ~ (DVD for DVD discs or VCR for VCR tapes). TO PLAY VIDEO TAPES If the indicator light on the VCD / DVD unit does not have the correct source light lit up: (DVD for DVD discs or VCR for VCR tapes) press the VCR/DVD button on the remote or the unit to switch between the two.

STEP 4. Cue up tape to starting point by using Crestron Controls & pressing “play” button. (Must have selected “VCR” as the source). TO PLAY VIDEO TAPES

STEP 5: Adjust Volume as needed using the Volume controls STEP 6: To return to device selection menu, press the Select Source button

STEP 1. Open DVD Player and insert DVD TO PLAY DVD VCR / DVD

TO PLAY DVD To navigate the DVD menu, select “Advanced Controls” To return to the main controls, select “Back” STEP 4. Use the Crestron controller to navigate around the DVD Menu and play the DVD. (Must have selected “DVD” as the source).

Step 1. Select “Document Camera” from the available display devices. Step 2. Choose where you would like to display the video. Projector #1, projector #2 or “Both” TO USE ELMO DOCUMENT CAMERA

TO USE ELMO OR WOLFVISION DOCUMENT CAMERA A Document camera is permanently installed on the demonstration tables. Set up lamps and use the camera per system training. ELMO Document Camera Wolfvision

TO USE PC STEP 1. Power on the PC and use as usual PC

Step 2. Select “Computer” from the available display devices. Step 3. Choose where you would like to display the video. Projector #1, projector #2 or “Both” TO USE PC

TO USE MONITOR USB PORTS NOTE: The Podium PC’s are equipped with 2 USB 2.0 ports on left side of podium monitor. These ports may be used to connect peripherals such as Flash monitor. TO USE Optional Laptop Hookup STEP 5: Adjust Volume as needed using the Volume controls STEP 6: To return to device selection menu, press the Select Source button

OPTIONAL: Smart technologies “Airliner Annotation Tablets” Some rooms in the Crawley Science Building are equipped with Smart Technologies Airliner Annotation Tablets for annotating computer based images and text. For ways to use the tablets, please reference the User manual in the podium side drawer.

Step 1. Select “Shutdown” on the bottom-left corner of any available menu Step 2. Select the “Yes, Shutdown” button On the Crestron shutdown prompt menu Shutting down the Crestron System

SHUTDOWN PROCEDURE CHECKLIST  Remove All Tapes, DVD, Diskettes  Shutdown PC Correctly  Shutdown the Crestron Controller and LCD Projector (explained in the directions above)  Lock Up Demonstration Table
