Scott Graber Rules and Regulations Know the rules in the student handbook Do not be LATE!!! Disrupting the learning environment will not be tolerated Meet your deadlines 10% points will be deducted each day a project is late Be respectful when teacher/student is presenting information NO iPods, MP3 players or electronical devices Absolutely NO cell phones

Scott Graber Course Descriptions Drawing 1 Semester course paired with Painting I Credit – 0.5 Course Length – Quarters 1 & 2 This course provides the student with the opportunity to create artworks using a variety of drawing media and incorporating various techniques. Drawing from observation and life is stressed.

Scott Graber Course Descriptions Painting 1 Semester course paired with Drawing I Credit – 0.5 Course Length – Quarters 3 & 4 This course introduces the student to acrylic paints. Color theory is stressed. Students paint on paper, canvas board, and stretched canvas. Watercolor and tempera paints are also used.

Scott Graber Grading Procedures Projects: 50 – 100 points Sketch Journal: 100 points. Reading & Writing Prompts: 3 – 4 points Class participation: This includes getting to class on time, turning all your work in on time, and participating in class discussions Art Show - 100pts – Every student will be responsible for participating in the art show. You will be graded on your overall display of work. Attitude – ATTITUDE IS EVERYTHING!

Scott Graber Sketch Journal Requirements Worth 100pts Must do between 10 – 15 drawings a month 5 – 6 drawing must be from observation - Drawings must show a source of light (shading), detail and an environment Can use any media to create your sketches Must do a self portrait every month Sketch books are collected on the first Friday of every month NO copied cartoon characters, create your own Due at the beginning of class They are not accepted late

Scott Graber About Mr. Graber 1994 graduate from Penn Wood High School – Lansdowne, PA 1998 graduate from Kutztown University with a Degree in Art Education 1999 started teaching at Wilson High School Spring 2000, was made assistant baseball coach at Wilson Southern Jr. High 2005 received my Master’s Degree in Art Education from Kutztown University I teach the following art courses here at Wilson High School – Advanced Ceramics, Drawing/Painting 1, Sculpture/Ceramics, Abstraction/Crafts and Advanced Placement Art Studio When I’m not teaching I enjoy the following: Hanging out with my wife Christine and our dog Eagle Enjoying time with my family and friends Going to the beach and to Potter County Fishing both fresh and salt water Working out Cheering on the Eagles, Phillies, and Flyers and going to their games Doing artwork – painting, drawing, throwing on the potter’s wheel, and airbrushing
