General Updates DPI is moving ahead with new spring assessments for the school year –No fall administration of WKCE and WAA-SwD Currently reviewing proposals Badger, ACT plus Writing, and DLM results are embargoed until later this fall ACT Aspire and ACT WorkKeys are technically not embargoed at this time HOWEVER, caution for ALL statewide data: –Public Record Issues –Inaccurate Data

ACT Aspire ACT Aspire will only be administered once in the spring for 9 th and 10 th grade students –NO fall 9 th grade ACT Aspire administration (and therefore NO fall 9 th grade DLM assessment) ACT Aspire Reports are currently available in the Aspire Portal – All user roles in the Aspire portal were rolled back to “educator” status in an effort to lock down the portal after the closure of the spring 2014 test window ACT Aspire Portal User Guide available at: –

Badger Exam reporting Badger Exam results, including Individual Student IPRs, are available in the Badger Exam TOMS portal

Alternate Assessments With the removal of WKCE for science and social studies, WAA-SwD science assessment is eliminated Moving toward Dynamic Learning Maps science assessment this spring Social Studies rater forms

DLM Science Standards Wisconsin will be incorporating the Dynamic Learning Maps-Essential Elements in science. The DLM-EEs in science explore a deeper understanding of the Wisconsin Model Academic Standards.

DLM Spring 2015 Reports Learning Profile: –Reports student progress by EE

DLM Spring 2015 Reports Performance Report –Summarizes skill mastery for each conceptual area and for the subject overall.

DLM Required Test Administration Professional Development Modules Required Test Administration trainings will now be accessed through Moodle –Science: All Test Administrators will be required to complete a training module on the new Science assessment in addition to the training included on the next slides

DLM Required Professional Training – Returning Teachers Returning Test Administrators will be required to complete 1 module and quiz (approx. ½ hr.) –Module: Review of DLM AA System – Components of DLM AA System – Clarify security demands of DLM – Review accessibility options – Review allowable practices – Review test administration practices

DLM Required Professional Training – New Teachers New Test Administrators within the DLM System will be expected to complete 4 required modules and quizzes (approx. 3½ hrs) –Module 1: About the DLM System –Module 2: Accessibility by Design –Module 3: Computer & Teacher Administered Testlets –Module 4: Preparing to Administer the Assessment

DLM – Student Data All student enrollments and rosters have been cleared from last year Districts will be asked to upload current enrollments, rosters and new users for the school year Additional training and guidance on data management will be provided

DLM – User Accounts Educator accounts from previous years are still valid for this year. If you have changed districts, district s or have changed your name, please contact DPI for next steps.

PALS Administration PALS Form A will be used for 5K for 2 nd grade for the school year. PALS 4K has only one form. Student Data Upload - Class lists are now completely managed at the district administrator level – online-system-for-administrators/student-data- uploads/ –After your initial student data upload, district administrators will need to upload any new students that arrive throughout the school year.

Looking Ahead: PALS School Year Districts will choose the literacy screener of their choice There will not be a state-level literacy screening contract with PALS or any other vendor PALS may still be administered but districts would need to contract directly with PALS

ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 Updated in to online assessment for grades 1-12 New features include: –Concurrent testing –Web-based portal –Three testing roles: Testing Coordinator, Test Administrator, Technology Coordinator

ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 Web Portal for most test-related tasks – WIDA Assessment Management System (WIDA AMS) –Permissions based on testing role Headsets (not just headphones) required New accommodations options available in online platform

ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 Web Portal for Administration In September, WIDA will release WIDA AMS, the online portal for test administration Designed to be “one stop shop” for all testing related tasks and materials –Host training materials –Capture pre-ID information –Ordering platform –Test session set up –Capture accommodations –Provide data downloads

ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 – Looking Ahead Please ensure district contact information is up-to-date to facilitate setting set up accounts in the WIDA AMS. –To check or update your contact information, use our DAC update form: DPI will provide additional information in early September as WIDA finalizes the roll-out of their new assessment. NAEP is a “national year” for NAEP –Small number of WI schools selected to participate –Students’ performance contribute to national- level results

NAEP Testing window: –January 25 – March 11, 2016 Subjects tested: –Grade 8: arts –Grades 4 and 8: tablet-based Reading & Mathematics –Grades 4 and 12: tablet-based Writing
