Finland’s leading glass recycler Trading since 1995 Based in Forssa in South-west Finland Opened a new glass treatment plant in MT per year capacity Began foamed glass production in 2011 Capasity cubic metres of aggregate Operates its own fleet of 12 trucks

The company collects and treats Packaging glass The majority of Finland’s packaging glass (for beverages) is part of a deposit system. Empty bottles are returned to 4000 shops for a refund of €/ bottle. Float glass (window/automotive glass) Float glass is collected from Pilkington and other glass-cutting units. Uusioaines rents out containers to customers and makes regular collections. Services

Products -Flint cullet -Brown/ amber cullet -Green cullet -Float glass -Foamed glass aggregate -Glass powder

Annually (2012) the glass treatment plant handles: c MT of packaging glass c MT of float glass The annual collectable glass input for Finland is: c MT the recycling rate is c. 80 % (based on incoming flow) 2012 statistics 55 employees Estimated turnover of c million Euros

Clean, pure cullet 25 MT/h Low moisture content Accurate colour sorting The filtering out of pyroceramics and crystalware Sample-analysing system provides accurate feedback about the quality The new glass-recycling plant

vaahtolasi -foam glass The benefits of Foamit light weight aggregate Small unit weight Good thermal conductivity Good bearing capacity Low capillarity Non-flammable Does not contain organic material Reusable

infrakentaminen Soil construction Foamed glass is used as a lightweight aggregate for soil construction and frost insulation. Foamed glass can be applied like other aggregates and doesn’t require any special machinery.. Applications Roads and streets Yard areas Pipe trenches Sports grounds Pedestrian and cycle paths Railways Harbours

talonrakennus House building Foamed glass can be used for insulation, weight minimisation and under basements in house building. Foamed glass is a non-flammable product and does not contain organic matter. It is very easy to build using foamed glass as it is lightweight and in granulated form. The installation on site can be done by trucks in big bags or loose in bulk. Applications Basements Frost insulation Lightweight filling Foundations’ footings and underfilling Roof construction Terraces Yards
