Why make posters?! Let’s Brainstorm:

What makes a good poster?!

What makes a BAD poster?!

FONT

Lettering

Using Color

Consider Layout

Shape and Size

Use a computer to design a poster. Make an overhead out of it and then shine it on the wall for tracing.

Masking tape in little rings works best. No tape should show.

How could this poster be enhanced?

Tips for event promotion: An event is only as good as its advertising. The brain loves novelty (size, shape, color, etc). One great product is better than five lame ones. Advertise X 3 = Each person should see or hear a message at least three different ways.

A few more tips…  Use another color or butcher paper as a border  Glitter is NOT a color. Rubber cement works best when using it as an accent  Keep slogans or phrases simple and easy to read. People read posters in a hurry  Use another color or butcher paper as a border  Glitter is NOT a color. Tips for using When using paint, use the dull side of butcher paper. The paint sticks better. Ask art department for old paint brushes or sponges because they are still good enough for tempera paint. To keep paint over time in a cup, put a damp paper towel over it with a rubber band. Also, save old, empty paint bottles to mix new colors.
