Non – Hosted Schools – Scomis are currently working on a project to assist schools who need to migrate from – Pending confirmation from Capita it may be possible to migrate from SQL2008 to SQL2014 – Hosted platform will be migrated – may be cost effective for non hosted schools to move to the hosted platform. 5

SOLUS 3 6

SOLUS 3 is an application which will automatically deploy updates and patches to the Sims server and workstations. Presently most schools are using SOLUS 2. Moving to SOLUS 3 could have considerable financial implications for the school. Hosted schools - Scomis will update the hosted platform at no extra charge. 7

Solus2 / Solus3 timelines – Considerations for Non Hosted Schools Current retirement date of SOLUS2 Is 1 st April 2015 The final upgrade which can be managed through SOLUS 2 will be the Autumn 2014 release. 8

Primary Server running SIMS, FMS, and SOLUS3 1 workstation I3 with 2GB RAM Primary server running SIMS, FMS and SOLUS workstations I3 with 4GB RAM Secondary Server running SIMS, FMS and SOLUS3 up to 100 workstations I5 with 8gb RAM Secondary Server running SIMS, FMS and SOLUS workstations I7 with 16GB RAM 9 Server specifications (to be confirmed)
