The aim of this session is to introduce some IT essentials so that you can start to use computing facilities effectively from Day 1. Topics include: 1.Logging in and passwords 2.Storing data 3.Printing 4.A survey of what software is available 5.A quick look at systems: SDS, Moodle etc

Logging in – a few extra hints If your Kent login is xyz55 then login to… Wifi (eduroam) as Student as xyz55 on campus PCs… but otherwise (e.g. via your phone) as Online services (SDS, moodle, etc) as xyz55 BUT if you’re not on the campus you may need to change that to ukc\xyz55.
