Learn vocabulary related to familiar actions. Use body movement to express certain actions. Listen to and pronounce the /K/ sound in the consonants c and q. Teacher will: Display Poster 1. While pointing to the central drawing, reintroduce the parrot and review its actions. Play the Audio CD & listen to “Presentation of the Parrot”. Point to different pictures of the parrot on page 51 of the St.Book while asking st. what the parrot is doing. Guide st. through page 51 of the St.Book. 1.1 St. engage in conversations, provide and obtain information, express feelings and emotions, and exchange opinion. 1.2 Students understand and interpret written and spoken language on a variety of topics. Describe the color and size of objects. Classify objects according to whether they are things or food. Teacher will: Display one PICTURE CARD at a time and ask what it is in English. After st.’s answered TW.repeat the answer in Spanish. Distribute the PICTURE CARDS among the st. When call out the name of an object in Spanish, the st.who has the corresponding Picture Card will stand up and show the card. Have st.look at the pictures on pg.56 of the St. Book, and ask them to tell you in English what room of the house it is. Point to each object in the room, say its name in Spanish and ask st.to repeat each word. Have st.read the names of the objects. Ask them to guess what the relationships among the characters are and what the story is about. Have them try to put the story in order. Play the AUDIO CD and listen to “Voces y Sonidos” (track 1)several times. Ask the st.to identify which character is talking and twhat background sounds they hear. Guide st. to complete pgs of the WB. 1.1 St. engage in conversations, provide and obtain information, express feelings and emotions, and exchange opinion. 1.2 Students understand and interpret written and spoken language on a variety of topics. 5.1 Students use the language both within and beyond the school setting.
