Popping Penguins By: Anabela Chavez

Penguin Characteristics Penguins are a type of bird. They are black and white and some have yellow on their faces. They eat krill, fish, and many other sea creatures.

Penguin Characteristics Penguins could fly millions of years ago, but they can’t anymore. There are eighteen different types of penguins. A lot of people put sweaters on penguins. Penguins have feathers and beaks some of their beaks are orange and black.

Baby Penguins Baby penguins are in an egg for 30-60 days. After awhile the mother transfers the egg to the father so she can get food for the baby. When baby penguins huddle up it is called a crèche.

Their Habitat Every penguin lives in the Southern Hemisphere. It is snowy, cold, and has lots of water. The Adelie and Emperor penguin never leave the Southern Hemisphere. There are millions of penguins in the Southern Hemisphere.

Their Noises Every penguin has its own noise. They need their noise for when they are done getting the food. They also use their noise for mating to raise their young.

Their Different Sizes The largest penguin is the Emperor penguin and the smallest is the Little Blue penguin. Emperor penguin is 4 ft. tall and the Little Blue penguin is only 1 foot tall.

Their helpful body parts Their flippers help them swim through the water to get food. Their smooth stomachs help them slide so when their in trouble they can jump out and slide up the hill really fast.
