Aims: To provide year 5 with an opportunity to enjoy the residential experience that compliments the current Solent programme of trips. To provide a focus for children to develop leadership skills. To give children an opportunity to develop their relationships with each other in a different context. To offer an inclusive trip that is accessible to all members of year 5.

Team Building Week long focus on what it is to be part of a successful team and successful leadership skills. PSHE element/practical element Children will take part in team building activities Children will also design and conduct a team building exercise for their peers to test and evaluate.

Itinerary and timings: Friday 6 th June 8:20 – 5LH to arrive at Fort Purbrook 8:40 – 5B to arrive at Fort Purbrook 9:00 – 5T to arrive at Fort Purbrook

Food: Friday Lunch/Snack: Please provide a break time snack and packed lunch similar to a school lunch in a disposable bag. Your child should bring some drinks for the day on Friday – ideally bottled water or squash. No fizzy/energy drinks

Friday dinner: Fish and chip dinner: Choice of: sausage and chips, cod bites and chips, fish fingers and chips, chicken nuggets and chips Small bag of sweets and drink provided Saturday Breakfast; Selection of croissant/pastries/breakfast bars

Sleeping bag Roll mat/something to sleep on Waterproofs Change of clothes Something to sleep in Jumper (warm clothes) Hat/Gloves Bin Bag Basic Wash kit 1 Night camping – Less stuff = more tent space! Footwear – there is uneven ground! No electronics (phones) No torches! No additional food! Packing list: Sun hat and sun screen and lip salve are a must- have. Both should be clearly named.

Inside spaces available in case of emergencies

What next? You will receive another letter in early May with this information and packing list. Please complete medical/contact forms and dinner choice for your child.
