Standards Training Picture?

Created to give recognition to all the societies who went above and beyond each year to make a kick-ass membership Given out at The Awards Can use shield on all clothing and merchandise

How to apply for Standards Go to your society’s standards page by adding /standards to the end of your url Add any updates by the end of each term

Criteria

Finances BronzeSilverGold Provide a plan of how you seek to improve your current financial situation, e.g. with sponsors, fundraising or grants Provide an active plan for becoming self- funded in the near future Be completely self- funded with no help from the Student’s Union Show us the financial benefits an individual gains from their membership

Events BronzeSilverGold Hold two events in both term 1 and 2. These can include socials, meetings and fundraising activities. Hold four events in both term 1 and 2. Hold six events in both term 1 and 2. Attendance at these events much reach a certain percentage (on sheet).

Fundraising BronzeSilverGold Raise £125 a year for your society of a charity. Raise £250 a year for your society of a charity. Raise £500 a year for your society of a charity.

Societies Guild Events Societies Guild events for your application include – Winter Fayre – Open Days – Society Fayres in January Make sure you plan these in advance so you don’t miss your chance for a standard!!

Communication BronzeSilverGold All members must be able to see all information about the society. (E.g. through Facebook or general meetings)

External Engagement BronzeSilverGold Hold one event that actively looks to involve the society in the wider community (e.g. a fundraising or awareness event) Hold two events that actively looks to involve the society in the wider community.

What can be included Any activities in the 2013/14 3 rd term Any activities in the 2014/15 1 st and second term. We will not accept anything that you plan to do, all activities must be completed prior to the application

What’s in it for us? Your society will have a shield next to it on the website, recognising it as one of the best standard societies at Essex. You will be able to promote it at Fresher’s Fair You get a certificate at The Awards You can put on your CV that you helped to achieve the accreditation
