Joshua 1:8 “ This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. NKJV

Joshua 1:8 Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. NIV

Part One: The Search for Success

The Search for Success Here are eight of my presuppositions concerning success… (they must be considered as a whole and not independently)

Eight Presuppositions 1. Money and riches are not evil. The Bible says it is the “love of money” that is a root of all kinds of evil. I Timothy 6:10.

Eight Presuppositions 2. I believe it is absolutely God’s desire to bless His children in every way according to Deuteronomy 28.

Eight Presuppositions 3. Some people, just like some children are not able to handle being greatly blessed in some areas; so in love God needs to withhold from them to protect and ultimately bless them. i.e. Some people can’t handle financial prosperity (Solomon, Proverbs 30:8-9).

Eight Presuppositions 4. If you won’t be faithful with what you have now, you won’t be any more faithful with much more. Luke 16:10.

Eight Presuppositions 5. Get rich quick schemes are a sign of a heart that is not centered on God and His design (Proverbs 13:11, I Timothy 6:9)

Eight Presuppositions 6. Some people try to “use God” for material gain – that’s not success; that’s twisted self-centered false spirituality. You don’t serve God to be successful. You serve God out of love in true humility and surrender. Then through obedience to Him and conforming to Christ success is simply a byproduct.

Eight Presuppositions 7. Success is so much more than material. I know wealthy people who are impoverished and miserable. I know poor people who are truly wealthy and happy.

Eight Presuppositions 8. God can’t bless you when you keep making poor decisions that undermine your own success. Galatians 6:7. (Read crown book)

Eight Presuppositions It is up to you to Choose Your Destiny of Success. It is up to you to Choose Your Destiny of Success.

Part Two: God’s Design for Success

The Hebrew word for prosper or success Hebrew word sakal. Meaning to be intelligent, expert, instruct, prudent, teach, understand and guide wittingly. Success is not about what you attain but how you live Hebrew word sakal. Meaning to be intelligent, expert, instruct, prudent, teach, understand and guide wittingly. Success is not about what you attain but how you live

The Hebrew word for prosper or success True success is about how you live and who you are To live right you MUST THINK RIGHT True success is about how you live and who you are To live right you MUST THINK RIGHT

Joshua 1:8 “ This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

Joshua 1:8 Meditation in God’s design Following God’s principles YOU will make your way prosperous and have good success through obedience to God Meditation in God’s design Following God’s principles YOU will make your way prosperous and have good success through obedience to God

Note sakal includes to instruct, teach, and guide wittingly- so true success incorporates sharing and passing on the torch

Part Three: Choosing Your Destiny of Success

Choosing Your Destiny of Success Morning and Evening Devotions. Obedience to all that God commands in His Word. “YOU will make your way successful.” God will send the harvest to those who plant and water well. Morning and Evening Devotions.
