15

Incredible Years Teacher Programme Content Building positive relationships with students Building parent-teacher collaborations Increasing parent involvement Importance of teacher attention, encouragement and praise Preventing problems: proactive teaching Decreasing inappropriate behavior Promoting positive social skills, emotional literacy, & problem solving in the classroom

Models of delivery: –To groups of teachers from schools within a locality –To focused groups - NQTs –To groups of teachers in a single targeted school, with delivery by trainers outside the school –By head teachers or senior teachers in their own schools Protocols: -delivered over 5/6 full days, over a number of months -delivered over 15-18, 2 hour s ‘twilight sessions’ weekly or fortnightly

Advantage of Teacher Classroom Management Twilight protocols: –Schools can be self sufficient in terms of delivery –School staff can train their own colleagues and develop consistent ‘whole school’ approaches –No additional cost for teacher cover time –Can form part of school development plans *Twilight protocols currently being piloted and should be available Easter 2012

NEW DEVELOPMENTS Peer Coach Training for Classroom Dina –Post training support and coaching for those trained in Classroom Dina –-supporting delivery with fidelity
