Political Party: The people that join a political party share a set of common ideas about the organization of government. A group that seeks to gain power in a political organization and/or government.

BIG IDEAS Republicans: LIMITED CENTRAL GOVERNMENT, less welfare, and tough, interventionist foreign policy.

BIG IDEAS Democrats: MORE CENTRAL GOVERNMENT, more social programs and more focus on internal affairs.
