Presentation transcript:

Ways Pink Eye can be caught: 1. Viruses 2. Bacteria 3. Allergies 4. Contact with another person who has it Symptoms of Pink Eye: 1. Redness of the eye or eyelid 2. Yellow discharge which causes the eye to crust over; making it nearly impossible to open the eye without being cleaned 3. Burning or itchy eyes 4. Blurred vision Source:

The treatment for pink eye depends highly on the way it was contracted. 1. Eye drops, (doctor prescribed) 2. Washing of the eye, periodically 3. Must run its course, much like a common cold 4. Allergy must be removed, cured, then the eye will return to normal Source:

 If a student shows signs of conjunctivitis, the parent will first be notified and asked to get doctor’s recognition if the student does have pink eye.  If the student does have pink eye, he or she will be required to miss school until all symptoms are gone and a doctor’s note permitting the child back into the classroom is accompanied with the child to the office.  When a student in a classroom is found to have pink eye, the teacher will clean and sanitize every door knob, desk, book, chair, etc.., with Lysol and notify all parents.
