Elements of a good portfolio

Skills, Abilities, and Marketable Qualities: -What skills do you have? -Is there anything that you excel in? -What abilities do you have that will contribute to your future goals? contents

Samples of your Work: (as an example) -Include a report. -Include a response to literature. -Include a narrative account (fictional or autobiographical). -Include a persuasive essay. -Include a reflective essay. -Include response to non-fiction, fiction, poetry and drama. contents

Testimonies and letters of recommendations: -Do you have any letters of recommendations from your teachers and counselors? -Are you currently employed? If so, have you received any special awards (such as employee of the month…), letters from customers, etc.. contents

Awards and Honors: -Do you have any awards from school? (such as poetry contests, writing contests, art awards, scholarships.) -Do you have any honors you have received for any of your writings? -Do you have perfect attendance? -Were you on the honor roll in middle school? -Have you met standards in all academic areas? contents

Extracurricular Activities: -Did you participate in any school fairs? (such as science fairs?) -Did you belong to any clubs in school?
