What is it? A British Council VTTN teacher training pack of filmed lessons and training materials for upper- secondary school English teacher training. VCD lessons + training materials
The pack contains: 5 VCDs of lessons; The Reading Lesson The Speaking Lesson The Listening Lesson The Writing Lesson The Language Focus Lesson 1 CD with the training material in PDF format for each of the 5 1-day workshops
How to use? Workshops: teachers from 3 or more schools 12 – 50 teachers participating VTTN way of working
Each lesson useable in 3 ways: 1. Watch the lesson and discuss and compare with expert feedback [90 minutes]. 2. A mini workshop [3-4 hours] 1.Warmer 2.Watch activity 3.Special topic and/or demonstration of skill area activities. 3. Full workshop [approximately 6 hours]
Full workshop format: 1. Warmer [20-30 mins] 2. Watch VCD and discussion/reflection [90 mins] 3. Focus on a special topic related to the lesson [60 mins] 4. Demonstration(s) of a skill area activity [60 mins] 5. Peer teaching [120 mins] [approximately 6hrs in total]

Watch a section: TA11, Unit 7 Language Focus Lesson (2 nd Conditionals) 1 st, 2 nd, and 3 rd Conditionals + reported speech (Students have meet 2 nd Conditionals in grade 9 and 10)

Demonstrations: 3 Things to do in the pronunciation stage Idea 3: Elicit or provide a movement/action for each of the consonant clusters. /kl/ = stand up /kr/ = smile /gl/ = touch your nose /gr/ = pretend to eat /kw/ = put both arms in the air.
