The Project To create an image based on the essay you wrote regarding your thoughts on human relationships and the need to be connected

Micrography In micrography, the word literally becomes the vision (or image), as thousands upon thousands of Hebrew (roots in Judiasm) characters blend and weave together to tell a story.

Finished Product Will be your 2 nd rewrite of the essay. Image will be totally made up of your essay. Will work in ink/ink values.

Requirements 1.First Draft essay re: human relationships 2.4 compositional sketches based on imagery from essay (in sketchbook) 3.Draw composition on 14x17 bristol board 4.Utilize essay to create value 5.Entire finished piece will be the rewrite.

Creating Value in Ink Beginning with the darkest areas first, start laying in your words. You must write the entire essay in the work, however you may repeat as necessary.

Creating Value in Ink Make the words tighter, more condensed, etc in the areas that need to be darkest. Spread them out as you get lighter. This is very much like stippling or pointillism, only you are using words instead of dots.

Finished Product Will be double mounted-neutrals You will paperclip the original essay to it.

Evaluation There will be two mid-critiques. One at the compositional stage-to share project idea with each other One mid-way to see how you’re doing. Final Evaluation Criteria: – Image to Written Essay, – Compositon-movement, gradation, proportion – Use of value-written word – Craftsmanship
