ADJECTIVES

DEFINITION An Adjective is a word which adds something to the meaning of a noun.

EXAMPLES John is a good boy. This is a red apple. My father has bought a new car. She is a kind woman . These grapes are sour.

TYPES OF ADJECTIVES Qualitative Adjectives Quantitative Adjectives Possessive Adjectives. Demonstrative Adjectives.

QUALITATIVE ADJECTIVES These are roses. These are yellow roses. She is a woman. She is a working woman.

QUANTITATIVE ADJECTIVES These include all the numerals and the words which show the measure of a quantity . EXAMPLES. Bring four chairs in the room. Give me something to eat. This plant has many flowers .

POSSESSIVE ADJECTIVES Possessive adjectives are those words which show the relation of the object with the noun. This is my kite. It is your school bus.

DEMONSTRATIVE ADJECTIVES. The words which show or indicate towards something are called adjectives. EXAMPLES. This is my house That is your clock.
