WHAT IS BIG DANCE? Big Dance is a Pan London biennial celebration of dance. It aims to get people dancing to increase fitness levels and to generate a legacy of dance for all.

SCHOOLS PLEDGE 2011 A way of engaging schools with Big Dance The Schools Pledge 2011 aims to encourage schools to perform a specific dance routine at 1pm on Friday 20 th May 2011 The British Council and Connecting Classrooms have linked with Big Dance and 5 - a – day Fitness to bring you the routine.

BRITISH COUNCIL As part of Connecting Classrooms:- Pupils exchange information about dance in their culture Names of dances, costume, music Share experiences with partner schools Extend activities to include active, healthy lifestyles and balanced diet

BIG DANCE a-day Fitness have given Big Dance and British Council a Schools Pledge routine for a mass performance on 20 th May 2011 You can perform the routine as it appears on the DVD/screen You can add your own choreography and dance it as part of the routine You can share this in many ways with your partner school.
