Online Safety Written by: Asael Estrada

Usernames & Passwords Never give out your username or password. You shouldn’t give it out because someone might mess with your profile or post personal information about you. Another thing you shouldn’t is give out your password or username to other online users. Another thing is the people can be hackers. Be smart don’t give out your username or password.

Personal Information One thing you shouldn’t do online is give out your personal information. Things you shouldn’t share are your full name, your address, your date of birth, your phone number, your school name photos and your . The reason you shouldn’t give out your info is because people aren't always who they say they are. The people you think you know can be. They can be online predators, stockers or criminals. So never share your personal information.

Cyber Bullies Cyber bullies are people online that bully people online. If you are cyber bullied the first thing you should do is tell an adult or a grown up. You should save the evidence and report it if it gets worse. You also shouldn’t be a cyber bully. If you post something online then everybody can see it and that’s bad. If your school principal sees it you can get suspended or even expelled. So cyber bulling is bad and you shouldn’t do it and if it happens to you get help

Online shopping Online shopping is both good and bad. It is good because instead of going to the store you can buy stuff online. It is bad because not all online shopping sites can be safe. The sites can steal information when you put your card number. Also you should never do it behind your parents back. Always get permission.

Illegal downloading If you download anything illegally you can be pressed with charges. Illegal downloading is also known as piracy. If that happens you can be arrested and put in jail. Always make sure you are not downloading illegal stuff online. There are some sites that you aren't downloading illegally like iTunes. So be safe when downloading stuff online.

Plagiarism Plagiarism is when you copy and paste things from other websites and say its your work. Plagiarism is a crime which you can be charged for with the police and the owner of the website. So if you copy and paste you should give credit to the site and the writer. You shouldn’t copy a whole article you should just copy and paste like quotes and small things. Some things have the copyright logo on it. So be good online and don’t do plagiarism.
