Nationales System Emissionen 1 TFEIP Meeting, – , Dessau Germany Some Feedback and Suggestions for further Development of the Review Tests Ulrike Döring, Germany

Nationales System Emissionen 2 TFEIP Meeting, – , Dessau Germany Quality control (QC) is a procedure or set of procedures intended to ensure that a manufactured product or performed service adheres to a defined set of quality criteria or meets the requirements of the client or customer. QC is similar to, but not identical with, quality assurance (QA). QA is defined as a procedure or set of procedures intended to ensure that a product or service under development... meets specified requirements. 1. QA/QC

Nationales System Emissionen 4 TFEIP Meeting, – , Dessau Germany The Review Development I Sub year Formatwordtemplateword Source Repdab / download ContentQuestionaire from IIASA Checks of: 1.Time series 2.Recalculation 3.IEF Checks of: 1.Key Source Analysis (KSA) 2.Compliance test (timeliness, format, completeness per pollutant, - and sector, consistency) 3.Comparability Test (cross pollutant test, recalculation, time series, IEF) Checks of: 1.Key Source Analysis (KSA) 2.Compliance test (timeliness, format, completeness per pollutant, - and sector, consistency) 3.Comparability Test (cross pollutant test, recalculation, trends, inventory comparison, time series, IEF) CommentHelpful to find internal errors Very helpful to find internal errors or inconsistencies, very short Significance of: KSA Cross Pollutant Test ?????? Improvement and some internal changes occur: - Cross Pollutant Test got more significance, - good overview of data gaps

Nationales System Emissionen 5 TFEIP Meeting, – , Dessau Germany The Review Development II Sub year2007 Formatword SourceRepdab / download ContentChecks of: 1.Key Source Analysis (KSA) 2.Compliance test 3. Comparability Test: New: cross pollutant test 4. Internal Consistency of gridded data CommentImprovement and some internal changes occur: - Cross Pollutant Test got more significance

Nationales System Emissionen 6 TFEIP Meeting, – , Dessau Germany Pro CommentSuggestion Detailed checks of the inventoryFurther improvement of national inventories Necessary, go on! Completeness test per sectorList of data gaps, very helpfulFormat should be Excel templates IEF-TestImprovement of national inventories IEF-Database and updated Corinair Guidebook are necessary!

Nationales System Emissionen 7 TFEIP Meeting, – , Dessau Germany Cons Cons:CommentSuggestion Completeness per pollutantFor some sectors the entry of notation keys is not clear. Do specific and relevant pollutant emissions really occur??? Checking the cells of the last submission with the actual submission => could be an advice of inventory improvement! The cross pollutant test is still not really significant! The correlation of IEF (NOx/PM10) of the different sectors is already unclear due to the source of the EF (measured, estimated or calculated) Leave it! The conclusion of the results are not obviously helpful. TrendsGood overview of the development of emissions Consideration of emissions for the years before 1990 is critical. For some countries it is not possible to recalculate the emissions before 1990!! Key Source Analysis Higher aggregation would be sufficiently! FormatUse of templates are easierExcel templates
