Setting Expectations You don’t need to know the most people, just know the right people. Don’t expect anything. Don’t leave networking to chance. Go beyond your industry. Don’t dismiss anyone as irrelevant. The Art of Networking
How to reach out to someone new Quantify how much time you are going to take. Start by offering praise, not requesting help. Keep your s short. If you must ask a favor, then ask for permission to continue. The Art of Networking
How to build the relationship. Try to provide as much value as you possible can. Start by focusing on being friendly and helpful. Develop the habit of introducing people. Ask if people want to be connected. Nurture your current network. The Art of Networking
Making Networking a Habit Try to connect one person per day. Don’t take “No,” personally. Make it a point to follow up. Did you fail? Try reaching out in a different way. The Art of Networking
