It never enough Raid your Desktop drive I have internal a SSD for the Windows OS 250GB I run Acronis non-stop backup to a SATA Drive configured as Raid 1 Mirroring I keep my images and all my data on another Raid 1 mirror set of 2 TB drives I have two eSATA drives One 3TB for all my data including images One 1TB for an extra copy of just my images I have two sets of these drives One is keept off site A relative that lives near by is a good choice for the 2 nd set
Best Practice Rule of 3 In backups also know as Grand Father, Father, Son Always have 3 copies One copy always off site When Traveling keep a copy on a portable drive and keep one with you at all times. ( I travel with two 2TB portable drives plus my PCs internal storage) Keep a external portable drive in a pocket separate from your camera equipment
Thank You
