International Travel Company You are creating an international travel project. You design and develop a travel package on a country of your choice. This country is then incorporated into the name of the department you work for within the company. For example, if you choose Germany, your department will be called “German Travel Department”. Country choices are coordinated with the instructor to ensure that there are no duplications. The objective is to plan a minimum seven-day travel adventure somewhere in your chosen country for a group of 33 clients. The travel package must be realistic: check online for hotels and airlines for cost, check-in time, etc. Clients will be leaving from the closest major airport to your school, so they need round trip tickets from that location and all except 2 of the clients are traveling together, which is referred to as “double occupancy”. You must reference the online sources in a bibliography. Choose the time of year for your trip and this is reflected in your brochure and/or poster. Grades depend on your use of the requested design tools for each of the MS Office applications, with a heavy emphasis on creativity.
WORD Create a brochure and a poster, plus a tourist table with excursions that are available on each day. Three separate documents. The brochure design will contain a cover page, border, pictures, table, multilevel list, highlight, indent, WordArt, as well as a header and footer. The poster at a minimum needs 3 pictures and a synopsis of each day of the tour included on the 8 ½” by 11” poster. The table needs to have columns and rows for the days of the tour and all the possible excursions (an excursion is a side trip that will cost an extra fee, for example, tourists on a cruise ship can pay extra to take a boat to a desert island for a picnic) available on each of the days including what transportation will be taken, the excursion cost, and amount of time each will take.
PUBLISHER Create business cards for yourself under the name of the agency for which you work. Create and informational card that your client must fill in with contact, health, and emergency information. Design a thank you card confirming their travel dates and times that can be mailed to them before they leave on the trip.
EXCEL Cost Breakdown worksheet A cost breakdown sheet is produced. It includes 8% for administrative fees, and 10% for the “Refer-A-Friend” incentive. It shows the cost breakdown and daily cost for each day of the travel package including air fare, insurance, meals, lodging, etc.
PowerPoint Create a presentation to convince the clients that they are getting the best international travel package. The presentation shows the schedule of the travel adventure through pictures/graphics and includes a synopsis. The slide presentation integrates items developed in Word and Excel with a minimum of 20 slides that contain or utilize: Transitions Themes Tables Photos Headers/Footers
