SEEING CHRIST IN THIS PASSAGE GENESIS CHS Addendum to Week 3

Seeing Christ in Genesis 1-11 Part of God’s curse towards the serpent was “I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; He will crush your head, and you will strike His heel. “ Genesis 3:15 Jesus, Eve’s offspring, definitely is at enmity with Satan. Satan would strike Jesus’ heel, or do his best to see that Jesus was killed. But when Jesus rose from the dead, He proved that His power was greater than Satan’s, defeating death and crushing his head!

Seeing Christ in Genesis 1-11 If Abel’s offering was accepted because it was a blood offering (4:4), this would be a picture of Christ’s atoning death on the cross. Chapter 9 vs 4 speaks of meat that has its “lifeblood” still in it. This also is a picture of Christ’s blood being shed on the cross. KEY VERSE:  “If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at the door; it desires to have you, but you must master it.” Genesis 4:7
