Objectives  Review definition of human rights.  Review abuses of human rights by governments and others.  Reflect on content & skill learning

Warm Up  What are human rights?  Two categories?

Review  How does membership in the UN promote hr?  What is significance of UDHR?  What additional documents make up international law?  Who oversees human rights violations?  Valid?

Review  How can governments integrate human rights into foreign policy?  What is the paradox of US human rights policy?  What role can social movements play in promoting human rights?  How has globalization impacted the human rights movement?

Review  Brainstorm as many human rights violations as you can.

Reflection  Content Reflection  Do political and civil rights outweigh economic, social, and cultural rights?
