MEDICEL meeting Istanbul 30/06/2012

Objectives and role of AOECS The objective is to disseminate the results of the project as well as finding potential synergistic networking partners relevant to the technologies to be developed. This will be facilitated by: –Identifying and establishing a dissemination plan that progresses with the growth of the project and its outcomes –Identifying potential synergistic collaborations with national programs –Identifying other relevant research programs –Establishing a coordinated effort through the creation of various related networks Objectives

CDMedics Website The momentum that was gathered during the previous 3 years has been kept. Over 6700 hits in a year from 71 countries With over pages visited. Key achievements - Dissemination 1.Presence of CD-Medics in 13 CD-related events – Most of these offered an opportunity for networking with other major European funded Projects including PreventCD and Medicel. Newsletters doctors’ pamphlets and brochures and posters were available for the delegates through a dedicated exhibitors booth. A video that was produced for such occasions was shown in a loop fashion through a large flat screen monitor. Major Networking Meetings 3.EU project PreventCD – meetings were held during the major CD related Scientific meetings (e.g. ICDS, Gastroenterology week, Espghan) 4.Medicel – Conjoint networking meeting was held in Malta on the 8 th September Various topics related to CD in the emerging Mediterranean countries were discussed. 5.CDMedics presentation is also scheduled for the next Medicel Meeting in Istanbul, Turkey – 30 th June 2012.

Major Networking Meetings Topics that were discussed included: 1.Easier and cheaper testing techniques 2.Identifying local gluten free foods 3.Setting up a Pan Mediterrenean CD BioBank

Key achievements - Dissemination Publication of the Pubic Newsletter Publication of the Internal Newsletter CDMedics also featured in a number of publication of ACM (Madrid). It is estimated that these publications reached an audience of near 90,000)
