Project Background Project Progress To Date – 24-7 & Luminis Project Plan Communicating the Project to Students and Staff Organisational Readiness and the impact on you AGENDA

Project Background Students are expected to use many of the University business systems (eg: MISIS, OASIS, 24/7, , Webhelpdesk, Library Catalogue etc). Students are expected to know which systems to use, for what purpose and where to find information. Students have found difficultly in remembering the range of userids and passwords - Learning Resources staff spend a significant amount of time assisting students who have forgotten passwords.

Project Background (Cont..) Research undertaken to help the University improve the student experience through Student Communications. The results revealed That communications do not work the way that the University wants, or the way that students expect. Students are experiencing information overload and feel lost in an information jungle - important information is not personalised. 24/7 is perceived as an on-line hub but is not being effectively used. Students want to engage, with the university and each other. Need to give students an MDXperience – there is a lot happening and students are not hearing about it.

Project Background (Cont..) This Project has been formed to address these issues by empowering our students with access to information, resources and services, no matter where they are, without needing to know which system to use or under what University structure to find information. This Project will encompass the redevelopment of 24/7 introduction of new SungardHE Luminis Portal.
