Unit Plan: In-Depth Review Outcome: The participants will complete an in-depth review of an MSDE Mathematics Unit plan.
Unit Plan: Task 1.Note the sections on the foldable. 2.Review these sections in the unit plan. 3.Answer the following questions for each section: Why is the section important? When planning a unit, how might you incorporate the information from this section? 4.Use your foldable to take notes. 5. Discuss your answers within your partner.
Each component of an MSDE Unit Plan provides important information about the new curriculum. It is important as educators that we become familiar with the value of each component.
Lesson Seeds and UDL Outcome The participants will: Become familiar with the format of an MSDE Lesson Seed. Examine lesson seeds searching for evidence of adherence to the Principles of UDL.
MSDE Lesson Seeds Facts Created by Maryland educators. Provide learning experiences around which teachers may build lessons. Serve as a stimulus for lesson development.
MSDE Mathematics Lesson Seed Domain: Cluster: Standard: Purpose/Big Idea: Materials: Description of how to use the activity: Guiding Questions:
Lesson Plan VS. Lesson Seed What is different about these two documents? Compare an MSDE lesson plan with an MSDE lesson seed… Look at one of the lesson seeds in your binder.
MSDE Mathematics Lesson Seed When looking at a lesson seed through the lens of UDL, we need to know… What IS UDL???
