First Excel Project Extreme Blading Company Needs: sales tracking report Source of data: financial analyst Calculations: – total sales for each of four product groups – total second quarter sales for each of four sales channels – second quarter sales for the company Chart requirements: 3-D column chart comparing amount of sales for each product group within each sales channel
Start Excel From start button begin Excel Right-click the Language bar Click Close the Language bar Click the Getting Started task pane Close button in the upper-right corner of the task pane If the toolbars are positioned on the same row, click the Toolbar Options button Click Show Buttons on Two Rows

Selecting a cell Use mouse to move the block plus sign to the cell and then click Use arrow keys to select cells A cell is active when a heavy border surrounds the cell
Start entering text (EX 17) Click cell A1 A1 becomes the active cell and a heavy border surrounds it Enter text “Extreme Blading” Text displays in the formula bar and in A1 The text in A1 is followed by the insertion point (a blinking vertical line), indicates where the next typed character will display
